Accra, Jan. 23, GNA - Lieutenant Colonel Ababio Serebour, Commanding Officer of the Ghana Armed Forces Pay Office, has reiterated the need to put behind the outcome of the 2008 elections and support the new government for the development of the nation. "Let us all put aside our party affiliations, unite and build a healthy and strong nation to improve conditions of living in the country," he said. "This is not the time for people to sit on the fence because they do not belong to the party of the ruling government," he added. Lt-Col Serebour was speaking in Accra at an end of year party organized by the Forces Pay Office of the Ghana Armed Forces for its staff to take stock and plan how to forge ahead in the New Year. The day was also to enable junior and senior officers to interact with retired officers to gain more insight about their field of work. Lt-Col Serebour advised officers to continue their good work and promised that the Unit would hard work to help project the image of the Ghana Armed Forces. He said the Unit was putting up accommodation facilities from its own resources and support from donors. The facilities, including a 21-bedroom apartment at Burma Camp, will house young soldiers. 23 Jan. 09
