Veronica Theresa Cassiley Hayford-Benson with some beneficiaries
Veronica Theresa Cassiley Hayford-Benson, CEO of the Heavenly Gift of Joy Foundation, has called on Ghanaians to support one another to promote national development.
This appeal was made during a donation event by the foundation in Mepe, Volta Region, where various items worth approximately GHS 100,000 were distributed.
Cassiley-Hayford-Benson also funded the vocational training for 20 youths in trades such as hairdressing, seamstressing, and event decorating, aiming to improve their futures.
Additionally, she covered the registration costs for 500 individuals to join the national health insurance scheme, ensuring they have access to healthcare.
Fifteen fishmongers, whose businesses were affected by the Akosombo dam spillage, received GHS 2,000 each to help restart their ventures.
The donated items included deep freezers, bags of cement,Packets of roofing sheets,knapsack spraying machines,Bags of fertilizer, Various seedlings and seeds for farmers, bags of sachet water, Gas cylinders,Cooking utensils
Toiletries, food, and bottled drinks.
Priscilla Ababio-Kusi, representing the CEO, highlighted that the donation fulfilled a promise made during a previous visit to support those affected by the flood. In an interview with Kwabena Ahwireng Martin (METRO/ORIGINAL TV), it was disclosed that the foundation has adopted a student named Patrick Agbavitor, currently attending Pharmatrust Professional College, and will support his education until completion.
Togbe Mankrado Kwasi Nego VI, the Mankrado of Mepe Traditional Area, received the items on behalf of the community, expressing gratitude to the Heavenly Gift of Joy Foundation and praying for the CEO and her team.
