Torgbuiga Akpo Ashiakpor VI (Nelson Kofi Gllago) has been listed as Weta Chief
A document from the Volta Region House of Chiefs indicating all the chiefs who have been gazetted in the Ketu North Municipality has emerged.
This follows an earlier report on GhanaWeb, where a claimant to the Weta stool wrote a rejoinder to calls by the Volta Regional Member of the Council of State, Dr Gabriel Tanko Kwamigah-Atokple, who had called for the factions in the case to seek court redress.
In the document, dated October 22, 2025, and signed by Mohammed Ikililu, Registrar of the Volta Region House of Chiefs, and addressed to the Municipal Coordinating Director of the Ketu North Municipal Assembly, it provided an official list of paramount chiefs and their private names in the Ketu North Municipality — the administrative area under which Weta falls.
According to the official correspondence, the Volta Region House of Chiefs recognises the following as the gazetted paramount chiefs in the municipality:
The inclusion of Torgbuiga Akpo Ashiakpor VI (Nelson Kofi Gllago) as the gazetted Paramount Chief of the Weta Traditional Area, according to the above, puts into perspective the person duly recognised as the Paramount Chief of the Weta Traditional Area.
