Jorbies Financial Service Limited, a loans company, has presented 6,000 exercise books to three basic schools at Kade and Boadua in the Eastern Region.

The General Manager of the company, Ms Joyce Larbi, said the donation was part of the company’s social responsibility after a year’s operation at Kade, and that the company would offer scholarships to 60 pupils from those schools.

The recipient schools were Ama Nipaa Memorial School and Newman International School, both at Kade and the Astra International School at Boadua with each school receiving 2,000 pieces of the exercise books.

Ms Larbi said the company was ready to award scholarships to 20 brilliant pupils from each school.

She asked the headmasters of the schools to submit the list of the pupils to the company without delay.

Ms Larbi said the company believed in promoting education and would do everything possible to help schools in the area to raise education standards.

At Ama Nipaa Memorial School, Mrs Adjoa Boahemaa Nimo, the proprietress, who received the items, expressed her gratitude to the company.

“We are overwhelmed and extremely grateful” she said, describing the company as a bank with a difference; adding that the school would form a partnership with them.

Mrs Nimo said the school, the first preparatory school in the Kwaebibirim District, established in 1982, had produced outstanding people such as doctors, lawyers, engineers and pilots.

Mr Denis Donkor, Proprietor of Newman, received the books on behalf of his school while Mr Jason Arhen, Proprietor of Astra International School, received the items on behalf of his school.

Both of them thanked the company for the gesture and promised that their schools and their staff would do business with the company while wishing the company well.

Accompanying the general manager to the schools were Nii Baah Barnor, Area Manager of the Company, Mr Sefa Boakye, Operations Manager, and Mr Dominick Osei Boakye, Marketing Manager.

Meanwhile, the company which had operated from rented premises at Kade, would open its ultra modern offices on Friday, April 27.**
