Accra, March 7, GNA - Ghanaians have been urged to look into the future with confidence that with God at their side they will score successes in the country's quest for socio-economic and political advancement.

This was stated by the Reverend Jonas Jones, General Overseer of the World Liberation Church International (WLCI) at the Victory Temple headquarters of the Church at Darkuman in Accra, as part of the activities marking Ghana's 48 Independence anniversary.

Preaching at a thanksgiving service he stated that the anniversary falling on a Sunday and coming a week before Palm Sunday, the day Jesus Christ triumphantly entered Jerusalem was very significant. "Ghanaians should step-up in the days ahead expecting nothing but victory all the way if we do God's will," he said.

Rev Jones said the essence of the period in the life of a Christian was that it showed what the power of God and said "Ghanaians should believe that under the canopy of his protection the country's problems would be solved and the gates of progress would be wild open and victory will be ours".

He charged the people to work hard, be patriotic and nationalistic for the country to maintain its position as the shinning star of Africa to fulfil the aspirations of Ghana's founding fathers.

"At 48 Ghana should move forward," Rev Jones stated and said "With God as the rock of the nation Ghana shall never fall and shall see progress since the country has a rock, a refuge and a dependable defender".

The WLCI Overseer led the congregation in special prayers for the government and people of Ghana, the President and all those in positions of trust and the founding fathers of the country.
