The Omanhene of Sunyani, Nana Bosoma Aso Nkrowiri II, has predicted that Ghana's first lady, Her Excellency Madam Lordina Mahama will be first lady of Ghana for eight and half years.
The Omanhene who was full of praise for the NDC, said this when the first lady called on him to seek his blesings before kickstarting her campaign for the Decemeber 2012 elections in the Brong Ahafo region.
As tradition requires, the first lady, herself a citizen of the region, said she could not start her campaign in the region without first seeking the blessings of the chiefs and people of the region.
She expressed her sincere gratitude to the people for the befitting home coming welcome accorded her at the airport.
She sought the support of the people of Brong Ahafo to ensure victory for President Mahama in the Decemebr 2012 elections. She cautioned against complacency, saying that she is worried about the "one touch" slogan which she says will not ensure victory for the NDC unless the people turn out in their numbers to vote on the election day.
Madam Lordina reiterated the assurance that this year's elections will be peaceful without acrimony adding that President John Mahama will accept the outcome of the Decemeber elections in good faith.
On his part the Omanhene praised the NDC for the development they have brought to the region. He said the NDC is a party which when they promise they deliver and assured the party of victory in the Decemeber elections.
He recalled that in 2008 Professor Mills promised to establish a university for the region, a promise that the NDC has since fufilled. He said the new University has raised the profile of the region which the citizens are very proud of.
He pointed out that the late President, Professor Evans Atta-Mills was a good man and therefore it is "no wonder that he has chosen an equally good man in the person of President Mahama as his successor."
Nana Bosoma proudly endorsed the NDC and President Mahama and said that the NDC already know that they have won the elections because they have worked hard and therefore deserve it.
He made a passionate request to the government for a minibus for the palace in commuting; the first lady assured Nananom that she will provide them with a minibus in her own capacity and not from the government.
