Low accident rate in Cape Coast during Yuletide

Cape Coast, the Central Regional capital, recorded very low motor traffic accidents during the Yuletide, due to rigorous educational campaign carried out by the Regional Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU).

Chief Inspector Samuel Obeng Addo, officer at the Cape Coast MTTU, commended the media for supporting the unit to educate drivers and the public on road safety measures.

He said that from December 24 to 26, no accident was recorded within the Cape Coast Township.

Chief Insp. Addo, however, said a minor accident occurred on the December 27 and the victim, a pregnant woman, was rushed to the hospital.

He said that no accident occurred on December 28, 29 and 31, but on December 30, there was one accident, at the Ekon junction, where a Benz bus run into a Yutong bus due to over speeding but there were no death or injury.
