Accra, Jan. 8, GNA - Luki Investments Limited, importers of rice and producers of Noni Juice drinks and cocoa products on Monday donated 20 packs of VALDO imported rice to the Street Academy in Accra. The donation forms part of measures being undertaken by the company to introduce healthy and hygienic brands of rice to encourage Ghanaians to serve their lifestyles with the consumption of unadulterated food products.

Mr Eliot Adom, Marketing Director of Luki Investments Limited, who presented samples of the rice to the children, said it was hygienically packed and each pack would be enough to feed an individual after just 20 minutes of boiling.

He said just as Ghanaians were gearing towards economic development there was the need for easy and simply products that could ease time constraints and allow for time for other productive ventures. Mr Adom said the VALDO rice, which was imported from the United States and was common in most parts of Europe was long grained and perfumed and was ideal for workers, students, travellers and restaurants as it could easily be boiled and used with gravy or stew. He said the rice has other brands that were suitable for hypertensive and diabetic patients and promoted good health to all manner of people.

Ataa Lartey, Director of the Street Academy thanked the company for its gesture and said the donation had come at the appropriate time since the Academy would re-open on Tuesday.

He called for more support from other benevolent organizations and companies to enable the Academy to cater for the feeding and other educational needs of the children who now number about 95.
