M.P, MCE call on paramount chief

The District Chief Executive of Amansie central, Mr. Asamoah Boateng together with the member of Parliament of the area. Mr. Emmanuel Gyamfi and other workers of the assembly has paid a courtesy call on the paramount chief of Bekwai traditional area, Nana Karikari Apau II to t! hank him and the council officially and introduce himself as the first DCE of the area.

Speaking at the palace, Mr. Asamoah Boateng thanked the council for supporting him in prayers and in all endeavours.

The DCE said he and the workers were working on Nana?s land to develop the area with commitment and dedication. Therefore, they came to receive blessings from the chief to propel them in their duties.

Mr. Asamoah stated that he has seen a number of major problems confronting the people in the area as poor road networks, lack of electricity in some areas, poor Infrastructure in schools and hospitals, inadequate water and telephone facilities.

He promised to put measures in place to curb the situations to relieve the people. On his part, Mr. Emmanuel Gyamfi who is the MP for Odotobiri stated that he will work peacefully with the assembly and other stakeholders to be able to solve the problems in the area. Receiving the visitors, Nana Karikari Apau II appreciated the move made by the officials.

He said that the traditional council is in support of the Amansie Central District to be able to develop the area.

Nana Karikari Apau II explained that he is aware of the numerous problems found in the area and therefore will do what is possible to make Odotobiri one of the best distric! ts in the country.

He promised to release lands to help in the development of the area. Nana Karikari Apau II again tasked them to use the royalties of the area judiciously to make the people feel happy in life. He also advised them to desist from chieftaincy disputes and forge ahead in unity and harmony in their duties. On agriculture, the chief was not happy on how cocoa farmers sell their produce in Adansi rather than Amansie or Bekwai.

He said this has come as a result of bad roads found in the area. He therefore appealed to the DCE to help in the road construction to enable his people reverse the situation.
