The Sunyani Municipal Assembly (SMA) is ever ready to welcome ideas for the progress of the Municipality, Mrs. Justina Owusu Banahene, the Municipal Chief executive (MCE) has declared.
“Our doors are always opened to take suggestions that could aid holistic development of Sunyani and its environs”, she stressed.
Mrs Owusu Banahene made the declaration when the executive members of the Sunyani Youth Development Association (SYDA) met and outlined the objectives of the Association to her on Monday in Sunyani.
The meeting was also to discuss issues and identify a common ground that could facilitate the speedy development of the Municipality.
She admitted the officials and staff of the SMA alone could not bear the responsibility of promoting the well-being of the people, hence suggestions from resourceful individuals and effective cooperation of groups such as the SYDA were always welcomed.
Mr Owusu Banahene gave assurance that her outfit was committed to supporting and implementing any agenda that would bring about sustainable progress in the Municipality.
“Let’s join hands to help the city of Sunyani develop by international standards because the development of an area is a collective responsibility of residents”, she appealed.
The MCE applauded the SYDA for its laudable initiatives and urged the executives to include periodic educational programmes on consequences of bad habits and social vices that could affect the speedy development of the‘city’. Mr Atta Akoto Snr, the President of the Association stated that the Association operated non-politically and basically existed to further the cause of Sunyani’s progress.
