Youth and football-loving people of Nkoranza have for years been craving the construction of a standard sports facility.
Through the efforts of Madam Harriet Kyeremanteng Oppong, the craving desire of the youth is fulfilled.
On Friday, August 2 2024, Dr. Akwasi Amoateng, Municipal Chief Executive Nkoranza South, broke ground for the construction of a multi-purpose sports facility.
The facility, when completed, will have artificial turf, a three-in-one Volleyball, Basketball, and Handball Court, stands for supporters, and benches for both home and away teams.
Mr. Amoateng besought the contractor to execute the project with speed without compromising on quality work and vowed the commitment of Nkoranzaman to him. Mr. Francis Owusu Nketia, the contractor of the project, assured his team's eagerness to execute their work with speed and quality. The agency for the project is the Middle Belt Development Authority, and it is expected to be completed within four months.
Other dignitaries who accompanied the MCE for the sod cutting were Nana Effah Adomako, Nkoranzaman Akyeamehene, also chairman for the occasion, the Municipal Assembly Engineer, Assembly members, and some foremost personalities of the Assembly.
Also, Kwame Ampofo Twumasi, Thomas Adu Appiah, Constituency Executives, most party faithfuls, and people from the media graced the colourful ceremony.
