MCE locks only public toilet; residents to protest

Residents at Opetekwei, a suburb of Accra, have threatened to stage a serious demonstration against their Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for closing down the only existing toilet facility in the area.

According to reports, the facility, which had been closed down served the entire community in the Opetekwei electoral area.

The reports also indicated that the MCE, George Wilson Blay, two weeks ago threaten to demolish that toilet facility, denounced his intention after similar protest.

However, a few days after making his intentions known, he besieged the place with a joint military and police team to lock up the place on Friday morning.

Meanwhile, other offices belonging to the GPRTU in the area, have also been demolished.
