MDCC looks for peace and reconciliation

Mozano (C/R), Sept 3, GNA – The Senior Superintendent Minister of the Musama Disco Christo Church, Rev John K. Addae, has said the church is making the necessary effort to bring back disaffected members to ensure peace and reconciliation.

He said the move was to find a lasting solution to the dispute that has beset the church and help regain its lost image.

Speaking to journalists at Gomoa Mozano to mark the 12 days of this year’s peace festival, Rev Addae said the church was going through trying times.

He said last year, the peace festival was celebrated together with the disaffected members based on orders given by the Cape Coast High Court and wondered why this year they have boycotted it.

He said this unfortunate situation occurred as a result of a long standing litigation between the top hierarchy of the church and the former Akaboha III.

Rev Addae said the church has procured eleven Tata buses to be distributed to branches of the church for commercial purposes and also to provide easy means of transport for members.

He said plans are far advanced to buy cars for the pastors and other senior elders of the church to promote evangelism and other outreach programmes.

Rev Isaac Beginah, General Secretary of MDCC, said the church has instituted a micro finance venture known as “SIKA Finance Services” to grant small loans to women in the church and help improve their small scale businesses.
