Kodie (Ash), Aug. 12, GNA - Mr Emmanuel Asamoah Owusu-Ansah, Member of Parliament (MP) for Kwabre West, has presented 1,825 dual desks, valued at GH¢63,875.00 to 73 basic schools in the constituency.

Some of the beneficiary schools are Ntiribuoho, Bomso, Afrancho, Brofoyedru, Aduman, Ankaase, Mpobi, Wawase, Adwumakaase-Kese, Apagya, Aboabogya and Atimatim primary and Junior High Schools (JHS).

The desks were bought from the MP's share of the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund).

Handing them over to the Afigya-Kwabre District Education Director for distribution at a ceremony held at Kodie, Mr Owusu-Ansah said he has within the past six years constructed 22 classroom blocks in the area.

Additionally, he has built two dormitories for the Aduman Senior High School (SHS).

These projects were financed through his share of the District Assemblies Common Fund.

Mr Owusu-Ansah, a former Ashanti Regional Minister, has also supported 120 students in tertiary institutions with bursaries.

Mr Ignatius Mwinbe-Ere Der, the District Education Director, receiving the desks thanked the MP for the gesture and said this could not have come at a more opportune time.

He said the desks would be handled with care and that the old ones would be repaired promptly.
