Brakwa (C/R), March 26, GNA - Mr. Paul Collins Appiah-Ofori, Member of Parliament for Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa, has donated relief items to rainstorm victims at Brakwa. The items included 20 packets of roofing sheets. A rainstorm hit Brakwa in February, destroyed many buildings and rendered 300 people homeless. Making the donation Mr. Appiah-Ofori said the items were in fulfilment of a promise he made to the victims. He advised the people to plant trees in the area to serve as windbreaks and always attend communal labour to tidy up the town. Mr. Joseph Yaw Boakye, Chairman of Brakwa Local Council, received the items and thanked Mr Appiah-Ofori. He said 200 out of the 300 victims had applied to the local council for assistance and that the sheets were going to be distributed to them.
