Fiifi Fiavi Kwetey, Member of Parliament (MP) for Ketu South, has donated Veronica buckets and other sanitary products to the Ketu South Municipal Assembly to support COVID-19 fight in the Municipality.
The donation, which is the third by the MP included 115 Veronica buckets, 115 washing bowls, 100x200ml bottles of alcohol-based sanitisers and 75x2.5L gallons of liquid soap.
Madam Dzifa Abla Gomashie, the National Democratic Congress Parliamentary Candidate for Ketu South who donated the items on behalf of the MP, said the donation was in light of the President's call for all to support the fight against the virus spread.
She said Mr Kwetey was moved as the MP of the area to make the donation to the Assembly for onward presentation to all the 39 electoral areas in the Municipality to enable the electorate observe the hand washing protocol in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Madam Gomashie urged Assembly members to continue with the education on the virus saying, “only when the message is accepted that people can adhere to the preventive measures such as hand washing, social distancing and avoidance of public gatherings to enable the country win the war against the virus”.
Alhaji Yussif Ibrahim, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Ketu South who received the items on behalf of the Assembly, thanked Mr Kwetey and the delegation for the gesture describing it as a show of political maturity.
“In some places, it doesn't happen like that where people eschew partisan differences and do things for the common good of the citizenry.”
