Twifo Wawase (C/R), Dec. 15, GNA - Reverend Ben Donkor, Member of Parliament elect for Heman-Lower-Denkyira, on Tuesday toured a number of communities in his constituency to express gratitude to the people for voting the government back into power and urged all his constituents to unite and forge ahead to accelerate the development of the area. The communities included Wawase, Mfuom, Tweapease, Nyamebekyere, Kwamoano, Nsuaem, Afeaso, Paaso and Tawia/Abaka Nkwanta.

Speaking at separate victory rallies, Rev Donkor, the former Presiding Member of the Twifo-Hemang Lower-Denkyira District Assembly, who contested on the ticket of the NPP, also thanked the people for electing him, and said the victory chalked by the party in the constituency, was not for only its members, but for all other residents in the constituency.

He advised jubilant party members not to tease or cast insinuations against members of other political parties to create tension, adding that now that the elections were over, it behoved on all members of political parties in the constituency to unite and make contributions towards its development.

On his plans to ensure the development of the area, Rev. Donkor assured the communities that he would use his MP's common fund to support projects in the constituency and asked them to take keen interest in communal labour and initiate projects to attract support. He said the well-being of any community depended on its youth and advised them to refrain from negative tendencies such as drug abuse, drunkenness, and pre-marital sex to avoid contracting HIV/AIDS disease. Earlier in a welcoming address, Nana Nyamah I, Gyaasehene of Wawase, appealed to the MP elect to help ensure the provision of potable water and a public place of convenience for the town, as well as the rehabilitation of the local primary and JSS buildings.
