MP for Bekwai, visits WASSCE centers to encourage students

The Member of Parliament for the Bekwai Constituency, Ralph Poku-Adusei, paid a visit to several West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) centers on Thursday, September 4, 2025, to offer words of encouragement to students and teachers.

The visit coincided with the crucial English Language examination, a core subject for all candidates.

The MP’s tour took him to Oppong Memorial Secondary School (OMESS), SDA Secondary School (SDASS), Awhiren Secondary School, Denyaseman Senior High School, Ofoase Kokoben Senior High School and Wesley Senior High School, where he interacted with candidates and staff.

Poku-Adusei’s primary objective was to show solidarity with the students and boost their morale as they faced one of the most challenging papers.

He encouraged the candidates "to remain calm, focused and determined," commending teachers and administrators for their dedication in preparing students for the exams.

Accompanying the MP was a delegation of local education and political leaders, including Leticia Obeng, the Municipal Director of Education, Kwabena Nsafoa, the Deputy Municipal Director of Education and Alex Arko Darkwa, the Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

During the visit, headmasters of the schools discussed several challenges with the MP, including infrastructure deficiencies and other critical needs affecting school operations and student welfare.

In response, Poku-Adusei assured them that he would personally look into their concerns and take the necessary steps to address them.

He reiterated his commitment to improving educational facilities and standards across the Bekwai Constituency, emphasising the importance of a conducive learning environment for academic success.
