MP inspects development projects

Madam Hannah Tetteh, Member of Parliament for Awutu-Senya East , has led a team of chiefs from the Awutu and Senya Traditional Areas, Management and Staff of the Assembly, and some NDC Executives, to inspect development projects executed in the area in the last couple of years.

At Senya Bereku, the team inspected projects which included the construction of hospital wards for males, females, and children, a new market, a three-classroom unit block, staff common room and an I.C.T centre, and a 12-seater water closet facility at Bonsoku.

Others were the construction of girls' dormitory, a dining hall for Senior High School.

The team also visited basic school students on free vacation classes, sponsored by the M.P. and a 12-seater water closet toilet facility.

Neenyi Kwa Bentum the fourth, Tufuhen of the Senya Traditional Area, commended the government, the MP and the District Assembly for giving them their fair share of the national cake, and appealed to his people to rally firmly behind the government.

At Awutu Bereku the MP who is also the Minister of Foreign Affairs, donated furniture to the Management of Winton SHS, inspected a Rural Technology Facility, a Technical Institute funded by the government, the construction of a six-unit classroom block for the DA JHS, with teachers' offices, an I.C.T Centre, a donation by the Chinese Embassy.

Other projects sites visited were a Water Closet Toilet Facility, Court Building, Ghana Education Service Office facility, the District Assembly Block, and an Area Council Office.

She cut a tape for commencement of work on permanent structures to accommodate personnel of the District NHIS who are currently in al rented building.

Mr. Sampson Amarh, District Chief Executive for the area, said the visit was aimed at giving an account of their stewardship, and to keep the people abreast with developmental projects and programmes the Government, MP, and the Assembly were executing to help better the lot of the citizenry.

They also inspected work on the construction of Police Station at Bontrase, and Mankomeda, CHIP compounds at Afasu, Afada Ayesuaco, Ayeresu, and later moved to Awutu Bawjiase where Madam Tetteh unveiled a plaque for the construction of a modern market and a lorry park, and a site for the Community SHS Sewing Centre at Bebianiha.

The team ended the inspection at Obrachire SHS where they inspected a girls' dormitory which was renovated by the MP, and on-going work on a new two-storey girls dormitory, a GET-Fund project.

Giving her impressions about the tour, Madam Tetteh said the inspected projects were among others they identified to execute to help improve the living standards of the constituents, and pledged their committment to work on the rest of the projects to create a conducive environment for the people.

Abokuadi Wyettey Agyemang Larbi, Omanhene of the Awutu Traditional Area, expressed his deepest appreciation to the government, the MP, and the District Assembly, for the numerous development projects executed in both the Awutu and Senya Bereku Traditional Areas.
