MP urged Ghanaians to work hard to support government

Koforidua, Dec. 13, GNA- The MP for New Juaben South, Mr Yaw Barimah, has reminded Ghanaians that the policies of the Government would achieve the expected results if the people do not support their implementation with hard work.

He called on the people to put the elections behind them and to co-operate with each other to ensure the development of the country. Mr Barimah was speaking at this year's annual harvest of the Adweso Calvary Methodist Church in aid of a new Church building. He called on Christians to pray for President J. A. Kufuor and the government for God to bless them with knowledge to deliver on their promises to the people.

Mr Barimah also urged Christians to pray for the Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress, Professor John Evans Atta Mills and the leaders and members of the minority political parties. He noted that in elections all the competing parties wish to win and said that in all cases only one party would emerge victorious. Mr Barimah said it was the hope of God that Ghanaians, irrespective of their political affiliation and desires, to stay together and stated that, "this is the reason why He, in his wisdom, made it possible for all Ghanaians to stay in the country called Ghana." He thanked the people of Koforidua for renewing their trust in him in the December 7 elections and asked Christians to pray to God to grant him wisdom for his work so that in the end, "when I am called upon to render accounts of my stewardship, I will be found to have performed creditably in truth and in honesty."

The Reverend Emmanuel B. Asenso, Minister in-charge of the church, called on Christians to allow God to enter their life, for them to live a more fulfilling life free of the fear for the future.
