Madina, Dec. 7, GNA - The Madina Evangelical Presbyterian (E.P) Church Youth Builders Association (CYB) at the weekend undertook a cleanup exercise in parts of the Madina township in Accra.
Members of the association spent several hours sweeping streets and desilting gutters at Madina Zongo Junction, the market of the township and the Rawlings Circle area.
In an interview with GNA, the Chairman of the association, Mr Frank Mensah-Tse said the exercise was in commemoration of the Association's 32nd Anniversary.
He said cleanliness was next to godliness and appealed to other youth associations to emulate the efforts of the CYB to promote sound environmental practices.
Mr Mensah-Tse said in line with its objective to serve humanity, it donated blood to the Tema General Hospital last year, and in June this year and carried out an outreach programme on evangelisation.
He said the CYB would organise programmes to train the youth in the Church to appreciate the teachings in the Bible and to apply them in their everyday lives.
The Madina Urban Council supplied brooms, rakes, wheelbarrows, cutlasses and shovels to enhance the exercise.
The Nkulenu Industry in Madina also presented 500 sachets of fruit drinks to boost the morale of participants and there was also a financial support from Richop Travel and Tours based in Madina
