Ms. Mavis Ama Frimpong, the Deputy Eastern Regional Minister has stated that President Mahama's commitment to education in the area of infrastructure for increased access and quality manpower was undoubted, considering the huge provision of infrastructure at all levels of education.

She mentioned specifically the construction of 200 Community Senior High Schools scattered across the length and breadth of the country and classroom blocks for both Junior and Senior High Schools, and other facilities.

The Deputy Minister made the remarks when she broke the grounds for the construction of a 900,000-dollar multipurpose Assembly Hall facility for the Koforidua Secondary Technical School being funded by the Old Students Association.

Speaking at the well-attended function by prominent personalities of the Association, Ms. Frimpong emphasised that education was a collective responsibility between government and all stakeholders, especially old students who have benefited from the system.

She said education was the only way to empower the next generation, and therefore any move to support government to provide quality and accessible education was a step in the right direction, and commended the Association for investing in their alma mater.

The Deputy Minister pledged one hundred bags of cement as her contribution towards the speedy construction of the project.
