Mamfihene presents computers to basic schools in Mamfe

Mamfe-Akuapem (E/R), Sept. 24, GNA - The Mamfihene, Nana Ansah Sasraku III has presented seven computers and accessories estimated at GH A2 2,100 to the Mamfe Presbyterian Junior High School (JHS) at a short ceremony at Mamfe-Akuapem on Tuesday. Presenting the items to the school on behalf of Mamfihene, Nana Kwamina Ansah, Dzasehene of Mamfe, explained that, the presentation was part of efforts by Nana Sasraku and his elders to ensure that all school children in the area became computer literates. He said as part of that plan, last year Nana Sasraku presented two computers and accessories to the Mamfe Methodist Basic School. Mr Osei Agyemang, Headmaster, Mamfe Presbyterian JHS, thanked Nana Sasraku and the elders of Mamfe for the presentation. He said now that computer programme was an examinable subject within the school system; the presentation would help in the preparation of the school children for their examination. Mr Agyemang expressed appreciation on behalf of the school to the Mamfihene and his elders for supporting the Presbyterian Church to furnish the computer library of the school at the cost of 3,000 Ghana Cedis.
