Begoro (E/R), Sept. 30, GNA- A 35-year-old farmer, Felix Tetteh Nartey, was on Monday remanded in prison custody by the Begoro District Magistrate's Court for allegedly causing the death of Madam Dede Baakey. The plea of Nartey was not taken and he will re-appear on October 29.

Police Inspector William Kwasi Nkrumah, told the court, presided over by Mr Paul Affum, that the accused sometime ago became annoyed with the deceased's son for impregnating his cousin, who had not undergone the "dipo" customary rite.

Inspector Nkrumah said this infuriated the accused and on September 26, this year, he pounced on her with a matchet and slashed her to death on the spot.

Inspector Nkrumah said the husband, Tettey Lawer, heard the screaming of the wife and rushed to disarm the accused but he was also slashed and collapsed but he did not die. The prosecution said the body of Mad. Baakey has been deposited at the New Tafo Government Hospital for autopsy.
