Accra, Feb. 18, GNA - The Management of Customs Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS) has transferred more than 60 personnel from the Aflao Sector. A statement to the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Thursday signed by Mr. Imoru Farouk Adam, Deputy Commissioner of CEPS in-charge of Administration and Human Resource, said the measure was aimed at instilling discipline and professionalism among the senior and junior staff of the service.

It said CEPS Management would subsequently undertake more transfers and retrain staff to be responsible to their obligations. The statement said in line with a change management programme introduced under the ISO 9001:2008 standardisation scheme, CEPS was implementing a continual improvement system in its service delivery by restructuring its processes to meet the expectations of clients. It urged stakeholders to collaborate with management of CEPS at the various sectors and stations to expose unprofessional and unethical attitudes by CEPS personnel.

"Management of CEPS is keen on establishing a common approach to solving the challenges faced during the clearance process and of international trade," it said. 18 Feb. 10
