Mankessim (C/R), July 23, GNA - Structures for a computer training school and a library complex for the Mankessim community is progressing steadily and will soon be completed.

Nana Araba Otua II, Queenmother of Mankessim Traditional Council is financing the building project, while the Double Rock Baptist Church of Cropmton, California in the United States of America (USA), is to provide the computers, equipment and library books. Reverend Terri Evans of the Living in Faith Everyday Ministries, a branch of the Baptist Church, at the weekend inspected progress of work on the two projects.

Reverend Evans said the Church had acquired 10 computers for the project, which would be shipped together with the library books soon from the USA.

She commended Nana Otua for her initiative in putting up the structure.

Recounting the history of how the church got involved in the project, Reverend Evans said the assistance was in response to an appeal the Queenmother made to the Church.

This was when the Queenmother was introduced to the Church while on a visit to the US, during which she also solicited assistance for the development of health facilities in the community. Reverend Evans also promised the Church would also ship some medical equipment to the Mankessim Hospital. 23 July 05
