Mavis Frimpong, assumes office as Eastern Regional Minister

Ms Mavis Ama Frimpong, former Deputy Eastern Regional Minister, has taken office as the Eastern Regional Minister, after a handing over ceremony was performed at the Regional Coordinating Council.

Ms Frimpong, takes over from Mr Antwi-Boasiako-Sekyere, the outgoing Regional Minster after three years of holding that position serving under two other successive Regional Ministers - Ms Helen Ntoso, and Mr Julius Debrah.

The new Regional Minister who was the District Chief Executive (DCE) of New Abirem, before her appointment as the Deputy Minister, was the only female appointee elevated among seven others in the recent Ministerial reshuffle.

The out-going Minister in his handing over message, thanked her for the support she gave him during his tenure of office and hoped that the experience gained as a former DCE and Deputy Minister would positively enhance her performance in her new position.

For her part, Ms Frimpong, thanked the President Mahama, for the confidence reposed in her by elevating her to high positions and ledged to work hard to support government realize the “Better Ghana Agenda”.

She also expressed appreciation to the out-going Minister, for mentoring her to be recognized for such a higher position and indicated that his in-depth political experience would be tapped for the development of the Region.
