Mechanics to use diagnostic machines

Mechanics in the Nsawam-Adoagyiri Municipality have been introduced to the use of diagnostic machines to detect faults on vehicles.

This is to help them upgrade their skills and learn about the use of new technologies in their trade to help them provide better services to their clients.

This forms part of a three-week training organized for the mechanics by the Nsawam-Adoagyiri branch of the National Garages Association with funding from the Council for

Vocation and Technical Training (COTVET) through their Skills Development Fund (SDF) at Nsawam.

Forty-one mechanics attended the training and were introduced to the use of computers in record keeping and communication with their clients and suppliers both in Ghana and abroad and business management.

The ultimate aim is to train the mechanics to improve upon their competence through technological innovations to enable them expand their businesses to create employment.

Addressing the closing ceremony of the workshop Mr Simon Otabil, Municipal Chairman of the Association, called on members to offer themselves for further training to enable them to acquire new skills to enhance their work.

He expressed his appreciation to the National Vocational Training Institute (NVTA) for the training and SDF for the support.
