Dr Kwasi Akyem Apea-Kubi, out-going Eastern Regional Minister, has advised the media, especially radio stations, to be mindful of what they allow people to say on their platforms.

“When one tunes in to radio these days, it appears there is chaos in the country.

“Do not entertain people who play war drums on your various radio stations”, he said

Dr Apea-Kubi was speaking at a press soiree organized by the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) at the Minister’s Residence in Koforidua on Monday.

He said the country was peaceful and would remain peaceful before, during, and after this year’s elections.

Dr Apea-Kubi expressed appreciation to the press in the Region for the enormous support they accorded him during his stay as the regional minister.

He noted that peace and security had been maintained in the Region because the Government had resourced the security services with the necessary logistics.

Dr Apea-Kubi said, the Fire Service took delivery of nine brand new fire tenders within a year, while the Police Service were also supplied with vehicles to help them in their day and night patrols.

On development, the out-going minister said the Government had executed 569 infrastructural development projects in the Region.

Dr Apea-Kubi reiterated the Government’s commitment to fulfilling its promises to Ghanaians.**
