Mr. Edward Nwinyour Gyader, a 72 year educationist and Member of Council of State, has been enstooled as the Aduana Sompahene of the Dormaa Traditional Area at a colourful ceremony at Aboabo Number Three in the Dormaa Municipality of the Brong Ahafo Region.
Mr Gyader, who traces his ancestral lineage to the Nandom Royal Family in the Upper East Region West Region, was enstooled with the stool name Nana Minta Afari I.
The ceremony replete with traditional and cultural splendor, was witnessed by dignitaries including Pulomelomelle Kwabo II, Paramount Chief of Nandom, Dr. Benjamin Kumbour, Minister of Health and Mr Kwaku Agyeman Manu, Member of Parliament for Dormaa Central Constituency.
Other important personalities were Municipal and District Chief Executives, some Members of Parliament, some members of Council of State, some chiefs from the Ashanti Region.
Barimah Yeboah Kordie II, the Aduanahene of the Dormaa Traditional Area speaking at the ceremony, appealed to the Aduana Royal Family and the Nandom Royal Family to bury their differences and rally to develop Aboabo.
He further advised the new Aduana Sompahene to team up with the Kingmakers of the Aduana Royal Family to enable them develop and uplift the image of Aboabo.
The Chief thanked the Sompahene, Nana Tiwa I, queen of the town and the Paramount Chief of Nandom for the peaceful installation of the new Sompahene.
Nana Minta Afari I, thanked the Aduana Royal Division for the honour done him assuring the Nandom Royal Family that he would work harder in the name of Allah to enable him raise the image of the Aduana Sompa Stool.
Nana Minta Afari, has been a Member of the Council of State since 2013 to date, serving under the Economic and Sustainable Development Sub-committee.
He is married with three children and attended the University of Manstrict in the Netherlands in 2008 as well as other Universities.
