Sunyani, Oct. 23, GNA - Rt. Rev. James K. Baffour-Awuah, 57, has been inducted as the Methodist Bishop of the Sunyani Diocese at a special congregation held at Sunyani. In an induction sermon at the weekend, Rt. Rev. Dr. Robert Aboagye-Mensah, Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana, quoted Genesis Chapter 13 and recounted how Abraham left all his possessions and move from place to place to worship God.

Rt. Rev. Dr. Aboagye-Mensah charged the new Bishop to help maintain the prevailing peace in the Methodist Church. He asked the Bishop to exhibit a sense of love and patriotism to help accelerate the growth and development of the Church. The Presiding Bishop stressed the need for the general congregation to solidly rally behind the new Bishop in all areas of endeavour to help propagate the Word of God.

Freedom and choices he said were the factors that contributed to the growth of the church and charged the congregation to be more responsible for the choices they make in order not to blame others for the consequences of their wrong choices. Rt. Rev. Baffour-Awuah on his part thanked the congregation for the confidence reposed in him and pledge to work hard for the growth of the Church.

He said he could not perform his duties effectively without the guidance and directions from God and appealed to the members of the Church to continue praying for him. Meanwhile Rt. Rev. Kwame Omane-Acheamfour, predecessor of the new Bishop is currently with the Kwadaso branch of the Methodist Church.
