Mills Congratulated For Marfo's Nomination

PREZ MILLS CONGRATULATED FOR NYAMEKYE MARFO’S NOMINATION

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Homebase Media Company Limited in Sunyani, Charles Kwadwo Ntim aka Micky Charles has congratulated H.E. President John Evans Atta-Mills for nominating Mr. Kwadwo Nyamekye Marfo and Hon.Collins Dauda as the next Regional Minister for Brong-Ahafo and minister for Lands and Natural resources respectively.

According to Mr. Ntim, the nomination of Mr. Nyamekye Marfo was best for the development of the region and in the good interest of the NDC, since the nominee has the quality to unite the people for peace and rapid development. Speaking to The Chronicle in Sunyani, he continued that the choice of President Mills was a preferred one to the region, looking at the track record of Mr. Nyamekye Marfo, who was the Chief Executive for the then Sunyani District during the first NDC era.

Mr. Ntim who is also the CEO for B.A United Football Club and a leader of the regional Communication team of Vice-President John Mahama campaign team however, appealed to President Mills and the appointment Committee to consult chiefs and independent grassroots people for their comments on applicants vying for the positions of Deputy Ministerial position, District and Municipal Chief Executive before their nominations.

According to him,chiefs and people at the grassroots of the region have the privilege to be consulted in the nominations of M/DCEs to make judicious choices that would avert any chaotic instances that have the tendencies to affect the fortunes of the party in its agenda.

He said some of the people who have reportedly applied for those positions were hotheaded, whilst others were not committed towards the sustenance of the party when it was in opposition and some arrogant who could make the party unpopular in their administrations.

Mr. Ntim humbly appealed to President Mills to heed to the advise and get to people who are well informed on the various applicants to make right choices to make his administration a success.He added that people especially in the media in the Brong Ahafo Region can also be consulted since they have moved with almost all the DCE's and ministers since the PNDC era .

“We need humble, open-minded, committed and a unifier who can pursue the agenda of the region and the party to the expectation of Ghanaians”, he stressed. He also acknowledged that President Mills’ first batch of nominees has proven that he really knows what he meant during the campaign period, because all the nominees were qualified and experienced in their respective positions. Mr. Ntim however called on the people of Brong-Ahafo to support the nominees from the region so that they could deliver to an expectation.

He also called on the nominees not to lord themselves over the people and eschew arrogance and disunity to help achieve the desired expectations of the electorates.

Some section of the populace when contacted for their comments on the nomination of Mr. Nyamekye Marfo as the next regional minister, shared a similar sentiment as that of Mr. Ntim, saying it was a great offer to them by the President and expect the nominee to honour the task ahead with humility.
