Mini-bus runs over Ho District Assembly driver

Ho, Jan. 5, GNA - John Kwaku Anku, 65, a Cesspit Emptier Driver of the Ho District Assembly was on New Year's eve killed by a Toyota Minibus. The deceased was knocked down when he descended his vehicle to purchase an item from the opposite direction of the road in Ho.

Mr Agrippa Apatu, Volta Regional Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU) Commander, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Monday that Anku died while being rushed to the Ho Regional Hospital. He said Godwin Lokia, who was driving the Toyota bus reported himself to the police after the accident and was detained to assist them in investigations.

Mr Apatu said in another accident, a vehicle drove into a shop around Mawuli School injuring one person.

Five other minor accidents occurred within the precincts of Ho during the Yuletide.
