Mr Acquinas Tawiah Quansah, Central Regional Minister, has exhorted technocrats at the various District Assemblies to avoid sabotaging political heads for socio-economic advancement of the country.
He also urged the technocrats to put aside their political affiliations and work as professionals towards the development of their various areas.
The Minister gave the advice when he addressed staff of the Agona West and East Municipal and District Assemblies, as part of his tour of the Central Region at Agona Nsaba.
The Minister was accompanied by her Deputy, who is the Member of Parliament for Agona East, Mrs Queenster Pokuaa Sawyer, as well as Directors of Regional Coordinating Council (RCC).
Mr Quansah made it clear that he was “not prepared to cause transfer of any technocrat who is trying to play mischief to any political head in the region”.
He said politicians spend only four years or more in office, but technocrats can be at post for over 20 years, until they go on retirement.
The Minister asked the politicians also to relate well with their technocrats, adding that politicians could succeed in their administration without the involvement of civil servants.
The Minister earlier, paid courtesy call on Nana Ampiam Darko V, Agona Kwayakohene and Kyidomhene of Nyakrom Traditional Area, Agona Duakwahene , Nana Kojo Amoakwa, and Acting Omanhene of Nsaba Traditional Area, Nana Kofi Yeboah at Nsaba,
The Minister and his entourage also inspected on-going projects at Kwanyako Senior High School, Community Senior High School at Agona Namawura and Agona Nyakrom/Nsaba road.
Mr Quansah also paid courtesy call on Okofo Katakyi Nyarko Eku X, at Agona Nyakrom and also inspected Nyakrom Community Center which had reached 80 percent complete.
The Minister also commissioned six classroom block constructed by the Agona West Municipal Assembly at Agona Edukrom and later inspected Mandela Market lockable stores project at Agona Swedru.
The Agona East and West Chiefs appealed to the President John Mahama to use his good office and release funds to contractors to complete all abandoned projects in the two districts to ensure development.
