The Ashanti Regional Minister, Peter Anarfi Mensah, has descended heavily on teachers, jabbing them for being fond of coming out with false reports to dent the image of the President Mahama-led NDC administration.
According to him, teaching materials, especially chalk, have been adequately provided for schools in the Ashanti Region and other parts of the country but some teachers usually paint the picture that they lack these materials.
The Ashanti Regional Minister stressed that the government was doing its best to make life and teaching comfortable for the teachers, adding, “so for once I am expecting the teachers to come out and tell the truth and stop lambasting the government.”
Mr Anarfi Mensah, who is a trained teacher and former Headmaster of Tepa SHS, launched the unprovoked attack on teachers during the official launching of the biometric registration of NDC members in the Ashanti Region.
The minister also urged Ghanaians not to make so much noise about taxes they pay to the government, explaining that the government needs the money to develop the country.
According to him, the country has experienced massive infrastructural development under President Mahama’s administration, noting that “your taxes were used for such developmental projects.”
Mr Anarfi Mensah said the NDC government has done a yeoman’s job to develop the country effectively and urged NDC members in the country to spread news of the government’s good works.
He predicted that the NDC would win the upcoming 2016 presidential elections “one touch”, pointing out that the party’s anticipated victory could only be realised when the party members work harder.
Mr Anarfi Mensah said the NDC government has initiated several landmark developmental projects in the Ashanti Region and expressed hope that the ruling political party would amass huge votes in the area in 2016.
He was of the view that the NPP has lost its grip on the Ashanti Region, noting that the colossal number of votes the NDC would get in the Ashanti Region in 2016 would amaze all.
