Jasikan, July 6, GNA - Mr Joseph Z. Amenowode, Volta Regional Minister has said the economic renaissance of the region could be achieved through re-engineering and assertiveness backed by the grace of God. This, he said, could transform the region into a buoyant economic power and prosperity.

Mr Amenowode made the call at the second Intercessory Prayer Rally for the Prosperity of the Volta Region dubbed; "Rally 2010," convened by Evangelist Godwin Baako-Boafo, Lead Pastor of Living Word Fountain Church, a non-denominational outreach Ministry at Jasikan. He observed that the strength and mind of the people alone could not actualize the expected economic gains but God's power, guidance and favour were paramount and urged the people to turn to Christ and eschew idol worship.

Mr Amenowode, also Member of Parliament for Hohoe-South, said the leadership quality and style being portrayed by President Mills was attracting the grace and favour of God saying its fruits were being translated into reality. He said; "When righteous men are ruling, things flourish in abundance," and urged the people to seek Christ in all things for God's power to re-invigorate the land for prosperity. He commended the convener for his divine intervention in tackling the under-development of the region.

Rev Samuel D.K. Dumevi, Inter-Church Director of Global Evangelical Church, said; "The needed change could only manifest if the Church rose up to establish potent altars against principalities and forces of darkness". He said spirituality was dependent on the establishment and potency of altars, which the devil has crafted into effigies and appealed to Christians to gird their loins to fight the devil. Rev Prosper Addai, Assistant Pastor of Gracefield Worship Centre, prayed to God to bless the land, resources and the people for prosperity and economic advancement. Evangelist Baako-Boafo said the objective was to seek the face of God in healing the land, the people and its resources and correct the erroneous perception of the region being a place for idol worship. He said through prayers all challenges could be succumbed and urged the people to be more assertive to harness the resource for accelerated development. Prayers were also said for the President, ministers, chief executives, traditional leaders and citizens for divine breakthroughs.
