Winneba (C/R), April 17, GNA - Mr Mike Allan Hammah, Member of Parliament (MP) for Effutu has appealed to teachers to identify talent and potentials in children during their early days in school and encourage them to develop it. He said children, being future leaders of the country, must be given the needed attention that would enhance their growth and equip them to become useful citizens to society.
Winneba (C/R), April 17, GNA - Mr Mike Allan Hammah, Member of Parliament (MP) for Effutu has appealed to teachers to identify talent and potentials in children during their early days in school and encourage them to develop it. He said children, being future leaders of the country, must be given the needed attention that would enhance their growth and equip them to become useful citizens to society. Mr Hammah who is also the Minister for Transports, made the appeal at a reception he organised for the children of the Methodist Rafiki Satellite Village (Orphanage Home) near Effutu Gyahadze. The MP was accompanied to the Village by Mr Kwadwo Asmah Bondzie, NDC Constituency Chairman of the area and some NDC activists in the constituency. The Minister said government was working at stopping child trafficking and other forms of child labour, and child abuse in the country. He promised to get electricity connected to the place and urged the managers of the Home to always called on him any time they needed his assistance. The MP later presented three create of minerals, some loaves of bread, four bags of sachet water, some quantities of cooked rice and a cash of 200.00 Ghana Cedis to the managers. The Reverend Ekow Sey, Director of the village, received the items and thanked the MP for his kind gesture.
