Minister inspects development projects in Sissala-West

Gwollu, (U/W), Jan 15, GNA - Mr Ambrose Dery, upper west regional minister has commended the fast rate of execution of development projects in the newly created Sissala West District. A number of projects costing nearly seven billion cedis being undertaken by contractors are at various stages of completion in Gwollu, the district capital.

Mr Dery expressed his satisfaction at the extent of work executed so far when he inspected work on some of the projects in Gwollu on Friday.

The projects include a 2.1 billion cedi district assembly office complex building, which is also to accommodate a number of decentralized departments.

Others are eight three-bed room bungalows for senior officers costing 453 million cedis each, all financed from the Assembly's Common Fund.

A modern police station with water toilet facilities in the cells financed partly from the common fund and the district wide assistance programme at a cost of 613 million cedis is almost complete. The old District Commissioner's Bungalow is also being renovated for use by the District Chief Executive. Mr Dery praised the contractors for the good work done so far and urged them to complete the projects satisfactorily and on schedule. Mr Petro Ankorli, the Sissala West District Coordinating Director took the Minister round the project sites.
