Nsawam, Jan. 2, GNA - Mr Magnus Opare Asamoah, Deputy Minister for Transportation has spent 120 million cedis from the MPs Common Fund to support the education of more than 75 needy but brilliant children in his constituency.
Mr Oti-Awere, Special Assistant to the Minister, who made this known in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Nsawam at the weekend said the support would help the children to develop their full potentials to become useful citizens and contribute their quota to national development.
He said the Minister, who is also Member of Parliament for Akuapem-South had awarded scholarship to students who excelled in academic performance in schools such as Nsawam/Adoagyiri St Martin Senior High School (SHS), Nsawam SHS, Aburi Adonteng SHS and Aburi Girls SHS up to the university level.
Mr Oti-Awere said the scholarship would be also extended to other schools beyond the MP's constituency and urged parents to motivate their children to learn harder.
