Winneba (C/R), April 20, GNA - The Minister for Transport, Mr Mike Hammah on Monday led some officials to visit examination centres at the Winneba Senior High School, where 1,203 candidates of 19 basic schools in the Effutu Municipality, were taking their Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
They were Ms. Betty Addai Mensah, Deputy Municipal C-coordinating Director and Mrs Rita Ackon, Assistant Director of Education at the Municipal Directorate of Education.
Mr Hammah, who is also MP for Effutu constituency, advised the candidates to abide by rules and regulations of the examination Mr Emmanuel Prince Dzndu, Examination officer at centre A, told the minister and his entourage that 646 candidates from 10 schools registered for the examination but three were absent. He could not give reasons for their absence and said there were not problems associated with the examination. Mr James Kojo Bodu, in-charge of Centre "B", said that 562 children from 9 schools registered for the examinations but could not explain why two of them were absent. ION
