Speaking at the function in Kumasi on Tuesday, Mr Sampson Kwaku Boafo, Ashanti Regional Minister, who received the items on behalf of the beneficiaries, thanked the donors and said it was time Ghana, as a country and churches to emulate the gesture by assisting the needy and communities.

He said he was happy that some of the items have gone to certain organisation like the Prisons Service, an indication that people have concern for the prisons and asked the officers to take good care of the inmates.

Mr Boafo commended the church for always being at the forefront of the development of people and working hand-in-hand with the government in its developmental efforts.

The Regional Minister urged the various institutions and organisations in the region not to hesitate to let him know of their problems so that positive solutions could be found to them. The Reverend Martin Amponsah and Reverend Thomas Yawson, both pastors of the Harvesters Evangelistic Ministry, said it was one Brother Job Kofi, a Ghanaian who solicited for the items from the Mission and other community members.

They said the presentation was not going to be the last and hoped that the next time items are shipped into the country they would not be delayed as it happened to this present one.
