Bolgatanga, Sept 12, GNA- The Ministry of Food and Agriculture in the Upper East Region has begun a two-day mid-term review workshop of LACOSREP Two projects in Bolgatanga.
The review exercise will assess whether the implementation of projects is on course and plan how to streamline the rough edges during the implementation.
Stakeholders at the workshop include project implementers, district chief executives, gender advocates and credit management committees. Addressing the participants, the Upper East Regional Minister, Mr Mahami Salifu, said LACOSREP Two is an important project for the region. He said it is the first IFAD project designed to fit with the decentralisation process since the government is committed to poverty reduction in the country.
The Regional Director of agriculture, Mr Edmund Otupri in a speech read for him, said LACOSREP Two is the first IFAD project in the country to be designed on the concept of a demand driven participatory programmes.
