On 11th November 2025, the Executive Director of PAMEPI Women in Tech Ghana, Chief Fuseini Yakubu, led a delegation from AFIDE Ghana to the Ministry of Education for a discussion on improving nationwide digital access.

The team included AFIDE Ghana’s Chief Executive Officer, Hanc de Bokx; General Manager, Pim de Bokx and Service Manager, Brianna Dika.

They met with the Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu and senior technical advisors including Prof George KT Oduro, Technical Advisor, Caesar Sowah Williams, Head of IT and Nii Kpani Addy, Senior IT/IM Officer.

The meeting focused on sustainable strategies for expanding digital infrastructure and access across the country.

AFIDE Ghana presented its ComputerLabs model, a system that provides fully installed and internet-ready computer laboratories with ongoing maintenance, teacher training, and on-site support.

The model, which uses a self-sustaining student token approach, has already been implemented in parts of the Greater Accra Region and is being considered for wider national adoption.

PAMEPI Women in Tech Ghana outlined its role in supporting digital literacy initiatives, including its involvement in extending the ComputerLabs model to schools in the Northern Region.

This includes the installation of 63 computers at Business Senior High School (BISCO) in Tamale and the rollout of additional labs expected to expand student access to ICT tools and training.

The Minister of Education acknowledged the efforts being made to improve digital education, particularly in relation to STEM opportunities for girls.

He requested the development of a national framework to guide the enhancement of STEM access in girls’ schools and expressed interest in visiting the BISCO ComputerLab during an upcoming working tour of the Northern Region.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to strengthening digital inclusion efforts and ensuring that students across all regions have equitable access to ICT resources and skills development opportunities.
