Minority Leader support three schools with computers

Kumasi, Jan 17, GNA –The Member of Parliament (MP) for Suame, Mr Osei-Kyei Mensah-Bonsu, has presented 24 laptop computers and accessories to three schools in his constituency to enhance the teaching and learning of Information Communication Technology (ICT).

The schools are the Kronum, Maakro and the New-Suame King Faisal Islamic cluster of schools.

Each of the schools received eight computers.

At a ceremony to hand over the laptops to the schools, Mr Mensah-Bonsu, who is also the Minority leader in Parliament, expressed his determination to do everything to support the development of education in the area.

He said with ICT having been made an examinable subject in schools, it was important to strengthen its teaching and learning.

The computers, he said, were given to him by the Education Ministry and urged the management of the schools to handle them with care.

Mr Asiedu Acheampong, Headteacher of the Kronum M/A cluster of schools, said the computers could not have come at a better and opportune time.

He said they would assist in the practical teaching of ICT in the schools and thanked the MP for the items.
