A motor-bike rider, aged 17 and his mother of 40, died instantly on Sunday when the Royal Motor-bike on which they were travelling collided with a KIA Trade vehicle.
The rider, Kwame Bawule and the mother, Madam Mordesa Nwinpone, met their untimely death on the Papaase-Dwenewoho-Donkrokwanta feeder road in the Nkoranza South Municipality when the motor-bike and the vehicle travelling from the opposite direction crashed in the mid-portion of the road. .
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Joseph Owusu, the Nkoranza Municipal Police Commander, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Wednesday at Nkoranza that Police investigation revealed the accident occurred around 2100 hours.
DSP Owusu said the Vehicle with Registration Number AS 9877 Y was being driven by one Mr Kwame Marfo, aged 22, whilst the Motor-bike bore registration number M-13-BA 1532.
He added further investigation revealed the deceased were travelling without protective crash helmets.
The corpses have been deposited at the Nkoranza Saint Theresa’s Catholic Hospital Mortuary for autopsy, while Marfo is in Police custody for further investigation.
