Mothercare School, a pre-Senior High School institution, has celebrated its 50th anniversary.

The occasion was used to honour the founder, Mrs Acquah Asare and other stakeholders and staff of the school.

The occasion, on the theme: “50 years of Holistic Education towards National Development Advancing Activity and Technology”, was marked with a Speech and Prize-Giving Day at the School’s premises at the Burma Camp.

Mrs Linda Boye, the Headmistress of the School, said there was more to be done in the coming years as they continue to play a lead role in the development of the society.

She said the school would continue to produce quality human resource, who would spearhead the progress of the nation.

Madam Rita Odoley Sowah, the Municipal Chief Executive for La-Dadekopon Municipal Assembly, said government would work with the private sector in an effort to bring quality education to the doorstep of the people.

She called on parents to ensure the proper development of their children and congratulated the School for reaching its 50th milestone.

The School was established in 1965 as a pre-school but it now offers primary and Junior High School programmes leading to the Senior High School.

An appeal for funds in aid of a solar panel for the School was launched to help ensure the regular supply of power.
