Tema, Aug 22, GNA - Mrs Yvonne Nduom, wife of the presidential candidate for the Convention People's Party CPP, Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom has called on residents of the Tema metropolis to massively vote for the party to enable her husband implement the vision of the party's founder. Mrs Nduom said her husband would revive operations at the Tema ship yard and the dry dock among other defunct companies established by the party's founder, Dr Kwame Nkrumah.
Addressing traders at the Tema Community one market, she said "Tema is going backwards contrary to the CPP's motto, forwards ever, backward never" due to the neglect of such important national assets after the overthrow of Dr Nkrumah.
According to her, Tema has not seen any major development for the past 42 years, adding that, it was unfortunate that no government has improved upon the works of the CPP in the harbour city.
She therefore appealed to the market women to advise their husbands and children to vote for the CPP, for Tema residents to enjoy the full benefits of the construction of the harbour.
Mrs Nduom urged residents to register with the party, observing that "judging by your welcome, it is obvious that the CPP is strong in Tema".
Accompanied by Mr Isaac Kofi Asempa and Mr Richster Nii Armarh Amarfio, Tema East and West parliamentary candidates respectively, together with some party executives, she toured the market and interacted with both sellers and buyers amidst the shouts of 'yeresisemu'.
Prior to the market tour, Mrs Ndoum visited the canoe beach at Tema Manhean, where she encouraged the fishermen and fishmongers to vote for the party to solve their problems including the activities of trawlers.
