The Head teacher of Mumford Community “B” Junior Secondary School, in Gomoa West District, has called on National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) to educate fathers to honour their responsibilities towards their children.
Mr Kobina Orleans Thompson claimed that most fathers, who are fishers in Mumford, have migrated to the Western Region for fishing and have left their children at home without proper care.
Mr Thompson made the call while contributing towards the celebration of Citizenship Day forum by the NCCE at Mumford in the Central Region, on the theme: “Every one counts.”
The Principal Speaker, Mr Hayford Edu Quaye of Apam Royal Preparatory School, noted that immoral lifestyle during the formative years of a child, could lead to one growing up to become a social misfit such as an armed robber.
He advised students who refused to attend classes after registration for their final examinations to stop the habit because it can lead to bad results.
Mr Quaye appealed to Ghanaians to honour their tax obligation to enable the government to get enough revenue to finance more development projects.
