Joana Gyan Cudjoe, the Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central in the Western Region, has revealed that her deep-seated roots in agriculture were the primary reason behind her deliberate decision to serve on Parliament's Food and Agriculture Committee.

Speaking during an appearance on the Angel Morning Show, Joana Gyan Cudjoe explained that her upbringing as the child of farmers provided her with invaluable firsthand knowledge of the sector’s intricacies and challenges.

“My parents were farmers, and growing up in that environment gave me a deep understanding of farming and its challenges,” she recounted, emphasizing the practical experience she acquired from a young age.

According to the legislator, this formative background has fueled a strong desire to actively contribute to the development of Ghana’s agricultural sector.

She stated that her motivation is to engage effectively in discussions and policymaking processes that will lead to tangible improvements in farming practices, farmer welfare, and national food security.

Joana Gyan Cudjoe’s intentional choice to join a committee directly connected to her personal background underscores her commitment to leveraging lived experience for legislative action.

Her presence, she believes, will enrich the committee’s deliberations with practical insights from the farming community, offering a grounded perspective on issues critical to Ghana’s economic backbone.
