NCCE to champion education on students riots in Assin district

Assin Foso (C/R), Nov. 5, GNA- The Assin District Assembly has commissioned the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) and the Labour Department to educate all second cycle schools in the district on the effects of students riots.

Mr John Kinsley Arhin, NCCE District Civic Education Officer, said this at a forum at Assin Foso on Tuesday.

He said this follows the acceptance of a recommendation from the assembly's sub-committee on education on the need to educate students in the area to denounce student riots.

He said because of the irreparable damage, and embarrassing situation the riots cause to the image and property of schools.

Mr Arhin called for building of cordial relationships between staff and students through seminars, sporting activities, entertainment sessions and the use of proper channels for addressing grievances in a bid to stem students' riots.
